I am starting a new course right now entitled "Sustainable Happiness and Well-being" in which I, along with members from two masters cohorts are exploring sustainable happiness. The first assignment is to interview our happiest friend,
I chose my friend Mik as my happiest friend because... he is always happy! (I realized during our interview that he is very happy but he is happiest when he is around me and my friends, so that may have skewed my interpretation of him.)
Mik and I are both 27-year-old elementary teachers. We met in university since we were some of the only males in our early years cohorts and our friendship blossomed from there. Mik is a world-class obstacle course racer and travels North America in his free time pursuing his passion for racing.
We talked about a lot of different aspects of happiness as we walked through a forest path for an hour. (We both agreed this would be better than sitting in Starbucks for many reasons.) Some of the topics that came up were resiliency, challenge, change, and the people you surround yourself with and how they keep you motivated. To listen to the interview, click on the link below. It is about 12 minutes long, but trust me you will want to listen right to the end.
If you have any questions for Mik or I, you can comment on the blog or if you want to talk about what makes you happy, feel free to add that as well! If you want to have a conversation about sustainable happiness, I would love to get in touch with you.
