About MeI am a Canadian prairie kid that has a passion for anything outdoors, educational, and creative. I live here with my beautiful partner Jennie in our cabin/house by the lake. Some of my favourite things to do are playing/coaching sports, building just about anything, listening to a good podcast, kayaking, and cooking. I am currently pursuing my masters of education in sustainability, creativity and innovation.

Teaching |
I am in my fifth year of teaching. I teach kindergarten and grade 1 as well as outdoor education to primary students. The best part of my job is meeting students who are brand new to formal education and watching them flourish over the two years that I teach them. I try to create an environment in my classroom that promotes creativity, social justice, mindfulness and cooperative learning. In the outdoors, students explore the great spaces the land has to offer including creeks, forests, and prairies. There is no such thing as bad weather, you just need the right clothes!

Sustainability |
Education for sustainable development is a passion of mine. I am part of our division's ESD committee where we plan policy, professional development and resources for the students and teachers of our division. I am taking courses towards my masters of education for sustainability, creativity, and innovation. The social, economic and environmental impacts of our choices have always interested me and I am finding my way in spreading a sustainable mindset in both my class and with others around me. Start talking to me about ESD and you will not only make my day, you will not hear the end of it.
